FAQ's
What Is Professional Card Grading?
At Hockey Card World, card grading is a meticulous authentication and condition assessment process designed to preserve the integrity and value of your collectible.
Each card is carefully evaluated and assigned a precise numerical grade that reflects its overall condition according to strict industry standards. A superior grade represents exceptional preservation, eye appeal, and structural integrity.
Our Grading Process
We utilize a refined 10-point grading scale supported by a comprehensive multi-step inspection process. Every submission undergoes detailed analysis for:
Centering, Corners, Edges and cut precision, Surface and enamel quality, Colour and gloss, Borders, Focus and print registration, Microscopic imperfections
Cards are measured to exact specifications and examined under magnification and specialized lighting to ensure complete accuracy, consistency, and transparency in every evaluation.
At Hockey Card World, precision is not optional — it is our standard.
What Card Sizes Do You Grade?

However, specific cross-border shipping instructions must be followed to ensure proper processing. Please contact us prior to shipping to receive detailed submission guidelines if required.
Can You Tell Me What My Card Is Worth?
Our expertise lies in evaluating a card’s authenticity and condition and assigning a precise grade.
We do not provide market valuations or speculate on resale value, as pricing is influenced by fluctuating market conditions.
Is There a Fee if My Card Is Determined to Be Counterfeit?
Yes. Every card submitted undergoes the same detailed authentication and evaluation process.
If a card is deemed counterfeit, it will not receive a grade or protective encapsulation; however, the evaluation service has still been performed.
Do You Grade Autographed Cards?
Yes, we accept autographed cards for grading.
Please note: We do not assign a separate grade to the signature itself and do not verify unauthentic signatures — only to the card.
